Reflections on ONE NIGHT
I have been spending some time reflecting, thinking about what went down Sunday night as we held our first ever Vertigo One Night, and I must say I am blown away by how amazing it was. It was a night filled with passion, expectancy, faith, and power. People’s lives were literally transformed. I watched a dozen or so people fill the front of the building and profess their belief, faith, and need for a relationship with Jesus.
As I have been processing through the night and remembering all the amazing moments I couldn’t help but think that this is really the way it should be all the time. You know, we plan, and build up for this type of nights, then have the night and then move on. However, as I think about it more and more, what happened Sunday night at Vertigo One Night should really be a normal night in the life of Vertigo. Which brings me to the real reason behind this series of thoughts that I have decided write down and share with you all. You see, I believe that Sunday night is really just the start of what will be considered “normal” at Vertigo. Now, don’t get me wrong, I in no way, desire any type of normalcy at Vertigo and despise the day that it could ever be said that we have become just that. What I am saying is that every single week I desire to see a thriving community, passionate worship and Christ centered teaching and the result being floods of young adults finding grace and salvation in Jesus!
Here is the deal -lets make it happen! Lets make a commitment to be the type of ministry that puts action to our prayers and doesn’t just sit back and hope it all “just happens.” Vertigo One Night was what it was because of the people’s passion to see the lost found and to see the young adults of Scottsdale, Mesa, and the surrounding communities come to know the message of the cross. I want to encourage us to make every single Sunday night about, “the one.” Make every Sunday night about inviting and bringing one person to Vertigo. I am believing that Vertigo will be a place where thousands of young adults in the valley will find themselves worshiping, and growing in Jesus every week. Every one of us plays a part in this, and every single one of us can have an impact on this generation! So lets make this Sunday night a night like no other as we press forward into the amazing future that God has!
Much Love,
Pastors Jason and Erica
